The teaching of Maths ensures that tutors follow the students’ present curriculum closely. Tutors go above and beyond where applicable so students are able to shine not only in the classroom but on the day of the exam too. The tutor prompts each and every student to ask questions on the subject and think independently without compromising the delivery of the session being lively and engaging.
The English tuition is built around the inter-related strands of speaking and listening, reading, writing (which includes spelling, punctuation and grammar) and comprehension. Students are encouraged to think creatively, read critically, write fluently and speak articulately. Such skills are nurtured by our highly-competent tutors, who create an environment that stimulates the students’ minds and their critical thoughts to whatever they may be reading.
In Science, we aim to enhance and explore students’ understanding of scientific concepts and make discoveries for themselves. In our classroom, we create an invigorating environment where practical activities are challenging yet meaningful. The thorough understanding of scientific concepts is what we at STUDY have discovered to be the key to academic success from SATs all the way to A-level examinations.
Our well-received 11 plus lessons build core Maths and English skills so that when it is appropriate to begin work with papers, we will ensure students possess the skills to tackle whatever questions are thrown at them – regardless of the difficulty.
The STUDY intensive 11 plus programme starts from May and runs up to the entrance examinations in September for year 6 students aged 9 and 10 years, who will be sitting the 11 plus examinations. The intensive programme mainly focuses on practising past papers, correcting current knowledge as well as improving confidence and exam techniques. The students will attend for 4 hours a week over two days. We make every effort to allocate slots at the convenience of students and parents.
